The Former Residence of Yang Changji was located at Doufucizi Hutong (Toufu Pond Hutong) behind the Bell Tower. At the middle part of a hutong, an old Huai tree can be found and a small siheyuan is situated right under the branches of the tree. This was the former residence of Yang Changji. As the whole siheyuan is covered by a huge ancient tree and when you are here, you will never feel the heat of sunshine even in a hot summer. Besides that, President Mao Zedong had been stayed at the first room on the left from entrance before. Even until now, the whole structure of the siheyuan is still remained its original look. When you step into the siheyuan, it will bring you back to the past.
