The first house of Mao Dun was situated at Dongsitoutiao Hutong of Dongcheng District. The hutong used to be a lively hutong throughout Beijing city and his house is located deep inside the hutong. Anyway, sad to say, the hutong had encountered a large scale of renovation project around 1980s and therefore, he moved to Houyuanen Temple Hutong after November 1974.
